Born in Sicily in 1903, Frank Capra became one of the most important Americanfilmmakers of the 1930s and 1940s. As a writer and director, he propelled smallColumbia Pictures into a powerhousein the film industry with three Oscar-winning films, including “It Happened One Night” (1934).
