Fabiola Gianotti
Science (1960-)
In 2012, experimental particle physicist Fabiola Gianottiannounced to the worldthat her Hadron Collider team of thousands at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, had discovered the elusive Higgs boson. Scholars concurred that the isolation of this subatomic particle “completed the standard model of particle physics.” Fermilab’s Director Nigel Lockyer proclaimed, “Fabiola is a superb scientist, [and led her team] to a great discovery.” In January 2016, Gianotti became the first woman director of CERN.(Provided by Fra Noi/Written by Thea Fiore-Bloom, photo courtesty of CERN)Formore geniuses, go to https://www.jccia.com/genius
