75th Anniversary Celebration of Veterans Monument at Arrigo Park (Chicago, IL)


CHICAGO-A Salute to Italian American Veterans on the 75th Anniversary of the Veterans Monument at Arrigo Park (Chicago, IL) will take place Sunday, May 30, 2021. The Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans (JCCIA) along with the Italian American Veterans Museum, and the Italian American War Veterans, will honor four World War II Veterans as part of the Solemn Program of Remembrance. Angelo DiLiberti, Angela Rinaldi, Carl Lituri, and Fred Randazzo will be celebrated and remembered for their profound service to the armed forces along with all Veterans during the Memorial Weekend event.


The gathering begins with a Veterans Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Popmeii at 11:00 a.m. (please visit www.ourladyofpompeii.org to make your Mass reservation) followed by a Solemn Program of Remembrance with a special blessing by Rev. Richard N. Fragomeni, Ph.D., Rector of the Shrine. Members of the Honor Guard, a vintage WWII vehicle, and the swinging sounds of the Brian Patti 12 piece Big Band will round out this distinguished occasion.


“It is our privilege to host this celebration on Memorial Weekend during this 75th anniversary year of the Veterans Monument. In a special way we salute our Italian American Veterans while celebrating all those men and women who served. We of course remember profoundly those who died for us in the name of freedom and liberty that are the foundation of these United States,” shares Ron Onesti, President of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans a co-sponsor of the event.
